Local Activities

Our top local activities

There are plenty of gentle walks, highland hikes and outdoor highland activities to choose from. If you want to go off the beaten track and try your hand at white water rafting, mountain biking or maybe even a bungee jump – we can point you in the right direction.

Birks of Aberfeldy

When Robert Burns visited Aberfeldy back in 1787 he was so impressed by the Birks of Aberfeldy that he wrote a song about it. You can still see where he sat and of course the spectacular waterfalls and lush surroundings. The walk starts from the public carpark in Aberfeldy and is 3 miles/5kms in total. It does get quite muddy in places so make sure to wear proper walking shoes. The overall route is very walkable and there are steps and boardwalks to help along the way.

Highland Safaris

Once crowed as the best visitor experience in Scotland – Highland Safaris offer exhilarating off road experiences as well as family friendly activities. Kids rave about the hugely popular Red Deer and Barn Owl Encounter – an unforgettable one-hour opportunity to see a barn owl in flight and stroke, feed and photograph the deer. There are lots of family activities and captivating presentations from the ranger. You will love every minute.

Watersports

If you like getting really, really wet and having an amazing time then look no further. You take a leisurely boat trip or whitewater rafting, kayaking, canoeing, tubing, river bugging or paddle boarding. We work with trusted partners on Loch Tay and river Tay – for details and discounts just get in touch with our resort team.

If you’re feeling daring and seeking some thrills then you can book some of the more nail biting activities around Moness. These include canyoning, cliff jumping, bungee jumping and gorge walking. Just tell us what you want to do and we will point you in the right direction.

Birks Cinema

The Birks Cinema is a 100-seater digital 3D Cinema run by the local Aberfeldy community. Look forward to the latest releases and Celtic acoustic music sessions every Thursday.
